WIND, Wind, wind, please go away! Ugh! We feel so bad calling and emailing guests to advise that boat trips must be cancelled due to the winds. When winds blow out of the East, South East or South in the Key Largo area, it quickly builds the ocean surface to dangerous heights. The other problem is that with our white sandy bottom and shallow depths, the visibility diminishes rapidly!

Sail Fish Scuba always provides guests with the highest level of customer service in the scuba industry by not subjecting them to going out on boat tours when the wind causes the ocean surface to have more than 4 to 4.5 feet waves.
We feel it is just not prudent nor safe to subject tourists to dangerous big sea conditions. At Sail Fish Scuba we would rather go weeks on end not making any money whatsoever, than to rip off unsuspecting tourists by taking them out in big seas and no visibility.
Here is what we are facing today for GALE Storms in the Key Largo and Florida Keys areas.
When we get notices like this one below from the USCG and NOAA for small craft advisory we do not push the limits and try to take anyone out on our boat.

January–March surface 72 F and Depth as low as 66 F
April–May surface 78 F and Depth 74 – 78 F
June-September Water WARMS UP quickly: Surface can get up to 90 F & Depth up to 87 F *SUMMER is our Peak Season for the Florida Keys.
October-December will be cooling each day: 84 F Surface and at depth 77 – 82 F
