Key Largo, Florida Keys builds Big Seas on a Windy Day Diving

Florida Keys today had Big 3’ to 4’ Seas from the Windy Day we were having. Diving was still amazing due to having excellent visibility and mild currents.
Today was one of those days we refer to as “Sporty” conditions. We were pleasantly surprised by the 50+ feet of visibility we had all day and tolerated the 3+ feet of seas to enjoy it.
Jen made phone calls and sent out emails letting everyone know to take preventative measures today to avoid sea-sickness. We made sure we only had qualified divers able to handle today’s conditions on the boat.

What We Did Today

The morning started with PADI Inst. Thomas taking our 3 Scuba Tune Up students to the Jacobs Aquatic Center Pool for skill circuit refresher.
Captain Bill was at the Helm of Deeper and Captain/PADI Inst. Chris was dive guide. They visited the Elbow Reef in the morning and Molasses Reef in the afternoon.
Dive Master Tim was first mate and Dive Master Rick was private dive guide for 2 guests.
Tom guided his group on the reef in the afternoon and was joined by a few walk-in guests for diving.
Inst. Mike’s Discover Scuba Divers got started at 11am and enjoyed nice long training and dives at Jules Undersea Lodge Lagoon.

Florida Keys islands are the sub-tropical Caribbean of the USA.
