AM: Wall in front of the Benwood Shipwreck
This morning at Benwood Wall all our divers were treated to the massive formations of healthy thriving living coral reef. With a max depth at this site of 90 feet deep it made a wonderful place for Inst. Alex to take his PADI advanced open water student to and do the deep skills. They dropped down to 86 feet on their computers and completed skills then made the slow swim up to the shipwreck sitting at 52 feet.
Inst. Thomas took the group of certified divers down to 81 feet max depth and then made the slow ascent up the beautiful coral covered wall to the Benwood shipwreck. Once back up at the bow of the Benwood they enjoyed watching all the schools of fish on the wreck as they completed the safety stop.
AM: Shipwreck Benwood
The second site at Shipwreck Benwood all divers with Instructor Thomas and Instructor Alex loved exploring this massive old shipwreck. The Benwood is a natural navigation shipwreck from 1942 and has been down since then. Fish and sea critters just love living at this site. Schools and schools of Grunts of all varieties call this their home.
Key Largo Reef Diving
North Star site @ Molasses Reef PM
This afternoon at North Star Reef Captain Chris reported Key Largo Reef Diving Weather Report as 70 to 80 feet viz and flat seas.
Water temperature today is nearly 79 F and the air temperature is holding right at 77.9 F. This makes for perfectly pleasant diving conditions.
PADI Instructor Mike is teaching open water training dive #1 and PADI Instructor Thomas is guide to our large group of certified divers.
It’s so nice out today we even have the non-diver spouses of our students and divers on the boat. The rider ladies slipped on bikinis and packed a cooler of beers for their fun boat ride afternoon.
Aquarium @ Molasses Reef PM
The second site at Aquarium Reef OWSI PADI Instructor Mike completed open water training dive #2 and all required surface skills with his student.
Inst. Thomas had fun guiding the group of certified divers and taking tons of fun photos for everyone. We sure made great diving memories for our guests today all day.
If this sounds like something you would like to join for a half day or full day, give us a call to book 305-453-3446.
NIGHT: Benwood Shipwreck
The Night dive site at Benwood Shipwreck was even more amazing to dive than it was this morning. The schools of fish were feeding and mating when we started the dive just after sunset. Processions of huge Parrotfish in all varieties flocked to this old shipwreck to settle in for the night in their spit-bubble they create to protect them. This is truly the very best site to do a night dive in all of the Florida Keys.
