WHEN ARE WAVES TOO HIGH FOR BOAT TOURS?
Here at Sail Fish Scuba dive shop in Key Largo, Florida we strive to keep our guests as safe as possible and provide the most enjoyable half day tours out on the water. In keeping with this goal, we must often cancel tours with our guests once the wave height reaches 3.3 feet or above. We try to explain to our guests how it is easy to get off a rolling boat in big seas. The danger lies in trying to reboard that boat when the swim platform and ladder keep moving from below the water surface to quickly 3.3 or more out of the water.
If you were to lose your hold on the ladder and fall and it crashed down on top of you, this would lead to a serious injury or worse.
Safety first is always the best plan.
What About Thunderstorms?
