Private training at Jules Lagoon

Today we’re doing some private training at Jules Lagoon! We’re lucky enough to have Claudia from France join us! Claudia has four dives under her belt and wanted some extra practice and time getting comfortable in the water. As the seas are still looking rough today, we decided to head to the calm and sheltered Jules lagoon. First thing this morning, Claudia and our wonderful PADI Instructor Thomas practiced setting up their dive gear.

Once at Jules, Tom and Claudia worked on some dive skills and toured this unique environment. They checked out the Jules Undersea Lodge and the many hundreds of fish that call this structure home, along with the super interesting cassiopea, or upside-down jellyfish. This jellyfish has a symbiotic relationship with photosynthetic algae (the bright color on the jellyfish)! The cassiopea lies upside down on the bottom of the sea floor, so to expose the algae living inside its tissue to the sunlight the algae needs to photosynthesize. In exchange, the jellyfish gets food from these algae!
