Why do Dive and Snorkel trips get cancelled by Wind?
Divers and snorkelers are all confused as to why they got canceled for their Dive/Snorkel tours.
Many times shops never fully explain why they had to cancel the boat tours.
Wind is normally the reason.

Wind Speed
East South East and East at a wind speed of 16 knots and gusty blowing across the open ocean for only a few hours will quickly cause flat seas to build to 2 foot to 3 foot choppy seas.
Taking guests out and beating them up on a bumpy boat ride, or possibly capsizing our boat is far worse than not making money.
Safety First
Wave height above 3.5 foot is just not only no fun for snorkeling, it becomes dangerous because boat traffic
can’t see snorkelers between the waves.
The main concern comes when the snorkelers want to try to get back on
the boat as the pitch of the boat can cause the swim platform which the ladder is attached to, to resemble a
bucking bull ride.
And this is most likely why your dive or snorkel tour got cancelled today.
